With a background in construction and an education in horticulture, Ethan Bungert founded Urban Utopia Design in Seattle, WA in 2003. Equally inspired by the natural world and architecture, Urban Utopia started out as a landscape design company with a focus on hardscapes and quality custom woodwork – decks, fences, gates, patios.

An experienced builder with a passion for plants, Ethan combines his woodworking and landscape design skills to offer a unique service. Working with landscape architects or directly with homeowners, Urban Utopia builds architectural features that support and complement planting choices, bringing fine craftsmanship to outdoor spaces.

After a decade of building landscapes in metropolitan Seattle, Ethan relocated to his hometown of Mattapoisett, MA in 2008 bringing artful design to the gardens, courtyards, and backyards of the South Coast. Since then, he has responded to the needs of his New England clients by expanding his range of services to now include home construction, remodeling, finish carpentry, property maintenance, and property management.
